It’s been a wild first few weeks back at it! Starting September 5th things have taken off at warp speed and don’t seem to be slowing down and time soon.
Our Cross-Country season is well underway. Students will have their first race next Thursday, followed by two more races in a few weeks. Just a reminder that students will not be returning to ÉRB following the race at Sansome School (Sept 25th), they need to be picked up there at 4:20pm. Please advise M. Vermeylen if your child is carpooling, walking, etc… following the race. A huge ‘Thank You’ to Mme Flynn for all her help with the Cross-Country season so far.
Next week we will be celebrating National Terry Fox Day. September 25th @ 3:30pm we will be heading outside to walk/run around our school grounds to show support for Terry Fox and the work of the Terry Fox Foundation. Students are encouraged to bring a “Toonie for Terry” to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. Parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members are more than welcome to come out and celebrate with us!
In terms of classroom content most groups have spent the first few weeks getting back into the routines of Physical Education (using the change rooms, doing a proper warm up routine, etc…) We’ve also starting working through a variety of team work and cooperative games to start off the year.
Lastly, but certainly not the least, I was away for a few days over the past few weeks to celebrate the birth of my daughter Celeste Violet Vermeylen on Sept 12th, 2014!
