Last Week In Phys. Ed. (Mar. 16th – Mar. 20th)

Last week in Phys. Ed. we spent most of our time concentrating on volleyball.  Students had the opportunity to work on some of the basic skills and strategies of the game.  We also spent some time working on our speed stacking.  The speed stacking tournament is going to be on April 22nd.  Check out our Speed Stacking page for more information.  Students will have the next few weeks to get in their top times in hopes of being selected for the team.

Next week we will wrap up our striking unit and wrap up the week with a Teachers vs Students basketball game on Friday.  Don’t forget that next week is spirit week!

Last Week In Phys. Ed. (Mar. 9th – Mar. 12th)

Last week in Phys. Ed. we continued on with striking, but striking in a different way.  We wrapped up out golfing portion of our striking unit, and students in grade 3-5 started playing volleyball.  We looked at how the volleyball skills are striking with our arms, rather than with an implement.  We will continue to work on some volleyball skills in the coming week, with a brief break during the science fair.  The Kindergarten – grade 2 students also looked more at striking with body parts, but in more of a game setting.  We played Human Pinball and a few other games to work on our skills.

This past week our Yoshi intramurals came to a close.  Congratulations to Team Bowser for winning the overall tournament!  Thanks to everyone that came out to play.  It’s clear that Yoshi is the most popular game at ÉRB this year!

Just a quick “heads up” that information regarding Marathon Club will be going home this week.  If your child is in grade 3-5 and is interested in participating they should be bringing permission forms, etc… home to you.

Last Week In Phys. Ed. (Mar. 2nd – Mar. 6th)

Last week in Phys. Ed. we continued with striking.  Students had the chance to play floor hockey, ringette, bopper hockey and a few other striking-related games.  We will continue on with striking this coming week and then transition on to speedstacking as well as a few other activities.

Our basketball teams also played their last games of the season on Friday.  We had the chance to participate in the district #3 Friendship Basketball Tournament.  Thanks to all players for their great attitude and great sportsmanship!  Thanks to Mme Flynn and M. Koester for their help with the team as well. The basketball teams will have one more opportunity to play in the coming weeks against the ÉRB staff.
