This past week in Phys. Ed. we’ve been busy! We’ve been working on both our speed stacking skills as well as our volleyball skills. Students will continue to work on these skills over the next few weeks in April.
We’ve been really busy in the extra curricular areas. Grade 5 volleyball club has now started. Students interested in gaining some experience with the sport of volleyball can come to the gym on days 1,2 and 6 over the lunch hour. Those students that put in a strong effort and commitment will have the chance to participate in our volleyball tournament on May 12th, 2016 @ Collège Sturgeon Heights Collegiate. More info to follow.
Speed stacking time trails are also in full swing. Students are competing to be the fastest stackers in the school in the two main stacking events (the 3-6-3 and the Cycle stack). The 12 fastest students will be representing ÉRB at the divisional tournament later in the month. Best of luck to everyone.
Wellness month is also going full speed ahead. Week one was Hydration Week. Students did a great job tracking their water intake and working on the goal of drinking 1L of water while they were at school. Next week the theme is exercise. Students will be logging their physical activity in hopes of achieving 60 minutes each day. We will also be starting our days off with a 5 minute school wide walk each morning next week. Be sure to ask your child(ren) about Wellness Month at home. Being healthy benefits us all!
