A very scattered week this week. A few different PD days, plus our conferences day made for a very short week of actual teaching time. We continued to work on our soccer skills this week, however, we tried a bit of a different approach to our teaching. M. Koester and I went to a PD session on Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU). It’s a teaching model that stresses playing the game first (or a form of the game), then asking the right questions to create confident and competent players that both understand the game and are able to play the game. We will continue to try this approach to our instruction throughout the school year.
Next week we are going to work on a variety of skills including skipping, speed stacking and snowshoeing (if we actually get some snow).
